Meet our tour guide: Doron Wilfand was raised in Kibbutz Ein-Hashofet in Israel. He has dedicated his professional life to guiding and lecturing on Zionist thought, politics, Israeli society, Second Temple Judaism, and Israeli Cinema at various academic and informal educational institutes. Doron obtained his PhD in religious studies from Duke University and wrote his dissertation on the use of the Hebrew Bible in the gospels of Mark and Matthew. During his graduate studies at Hebrew University and Duke, he focused on Ancient Judaism and the birth of Christianity but also wrote and researched perceptions of this period in modern Zionism and their reflection on Jewish-Christian relations. Doron lives in Jerusalem with his wife, Yael, and their four children.
